About the Press

Mearc Press is an independent publisher based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We publish books that are built to bear weight—works of fiction, theology, and ideas that reward serious readers without demanding an academic credential to enjoy them.

Our catalog spans genres because good thinking does. A thriller and a work of biblical scholarship sit on the same shelf here, united not by category but by the conviction that a book should be crafted with care and say something that matters.

The name is Old English: mearc means boundary, border, mark—the line where one territory ends and another begins. It's a fitting word for a press whose books cross the borders between disciplines, between the ancient and the modern, between the academy and the reading public.
